Who have not marveled at the flocks of birds flying through the air, or schools of tiny fish darting through waters? The murmuring of Starlings and the swarming of bees are particularly awesome natural phenomena to observe.
This workshop introduces you to creating movements using hand-fashioned electromagnets made with recycled materials, e-waste, and low-energy electronics. We will set this flock or school of imaginary creatures onto recycled fabric to create an installation in the Makerspace.
We will invite artists, designers, mathematicians, computer scientists and biologists to discuss complex behaviors such as flocking, and swarming. We will explore what these patterns of nature can tell us about the health of the environments.
